Managing Workspaces

Sorrel allows you to manage multiple workspaces, making it easy to separate and organize your writing projects.

A workspace in Sorrel is like a self-contained project area—each with its own notes and folders. This is (almost) similar to what apps like Obsidian call a Vault.

Workspaces are ideal for keeping your work organized across different themes, clients, or creative projects.

To create a new workspace:

  1. Go to File > New Workspace.
  2. In the Create a new workspace section, type a name for your new workspace.
  3. Click Create.

Your new workspace will be added and opened immediately.

To open a previously created workspace:

  1. Click File in the top menu.
  2. Select Open Workspace.
  3. Choose from the list of available workspaces.

To rename an existing workspace:

  1. Go to File > Open Workspace.
  2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the workspace you want to rename.
  3. Select Rename from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter the new name and press Enter.

To delete a workspace:

  1. Navigate to File > Open Workspace.
  2. Click the ellipsis icon (⋯) next to the workspace.
  3. Choose Delete from the dropdown menu.
  4. Confirm your action when prompted.

⚠️ Deleting a workspace is permanent. Make sure you’ve backed up any important notes.
